This role oversees the comprehensive scoping, engineering coordination, financial management, and construction oversight for major transmission and substation interconnection projects connecting renewable energy developers (wind and solar) to the power grid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct full lifecycle project management for electric transmission and substation interconnection projects from initial scope definition through construction and energization.
  • Manage end-to-end project financials, including building initial cost estimates, securing financial authorizations, managing purchase requisitions and invoices, and conducting ongoing cash flow forecasting.
  • Coordinate and procure engineering and construction resources, collaborating across internal engineering disciplines, external EPC partners, and field contractors.
  • Conduct monthly or bi-monthly field inspections across active substation and transmission job sites to monitor construction progress, safety, and scope adherence.
  • Facilitate regular stakeholder communications across developers, utility operations, regional transmission organizations (PJM), and executive leadership.
  • Drive project schedule adherence, scope control, risk management, and formal project closeout activities.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for monthly job site visits across regional territories.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to proprietary enterprise systems, complex governance processes, and dynamic project environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management.
  • Prior direct project management experience within ComEd or another electric utility operating under PJM standards.
  • Deep familiarity with high-voltage electrical substation equipment, transformers, and transmission interconnection standards.
