Transit Bus Field Service TechnicianWe're looking for a hands-on Field Service Technician to support transit agencies throughout the Bay Area. This role combines welding, fabrication, troubleshooting, inspections, warranty repairs, retrofits, and technical support on next-generation transit buses. If you enjoy solving problems, working independently, and supporting advanced vehicle technology in the field, we'd like to hear from you.What You'll DoMust be able to perform welding and fabrication repairs on transit vehiclesComplete warranty repairs, retrofits, and vehicle inspectionsTroubleshoot electrical and mechanical issuesRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentationDiagnose and repair wiring, relays, lighting systems, motors, and related componentsConduct vehicle acceptance testing and quality inspectionsTravel locally to customer sites and transit agencies throughout the Bay AreaDocument service activities and communicate findings with customers and internal teamsFollow all OSHA, company, and high-voltage safety proceduresPPE Equipment providedWhat We're Looking For3+ years of welding, fabrication, maintenance, or field service experienceNeed to be certified in Stainless SteelExperience with MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-Core weldingStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsAbility to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsExperience working on buses, heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, rail, fleet equipment, HVAC systems, or industrial machinery is highly preferredAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionValid driver's licensePreferred ExperienceTransit bus maintenanceElectric vehicle (EV) systemsHybrid vehicle systemsHydrogen fuel cell technologyPLC troubleshootingHigh-voltage electrical systemsCertifications (Preferred)AWS Certified WelderCertified in Stainless SteelOSHA 10 or OSHA 30Electrical or HVAC CertificationHigh Voltage Safety TrainingCompensation & BenefitsStarting at $35/hour and upCompensation based on experience, certifications, and technical skill levelStable Monday–Friday scheduleOpportunity to work with cutting-edge electric and hydrogen transit technologyBenefits PEAK's benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Dependent Care Savings Account (DCA), and 401K plan.
