Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role. The Transformer Technician will conduct testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical transformers and associated equipment. Daily responsibilities include inspecting, diagnosing, and addressing transformer issues, ensuring proper operation and compliance with safety protocols, and contributing to the effective functioning of electrical systems. Collaboration with team members to complete projects efficiently and maintain professional standards will also be required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections, oil sampling, oil processing, and vacuum filling.
  • Assist with transformer installation, assembly, and commissioning.
  • Troubleshoot transformer issues and support corrective actions.
  • Perform maintenance on auxiliary transformer equipment (fans, gauges, bushings, tap changers, etc.).
  • Document work performed, test results, and findings accurately.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
  • Work independently or as part of a team on field assignments.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with power transformers (testing, assembly, or maintenance).
  • Knowledge of electrical testing equipment such as Doble, Megger, etc.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and test data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel for field assignments.
  • CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in industrial environments.
  • Ability to climb, crouch, and work on elevated surfaces as needed.
