Position Summary:

n

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Transfer Admissions Counselor. - Boca Raton, FL.

n

This position collaborates closely with the Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions at FAU’s Boca Raton campus to develop and implement procedures that will support admissions policies and facilitate student recruitment; assists with developing new undergraduate transfer recruitment plans for FAU.

Summary of responsibilities:

    n

    Establishes and maintains effective communication and rapport with Florida State College advisors, faculty, and other administrators to promote FAU’s academic programs and transfer processes.

  • n

    Counsels prospective students, applicants, and family members about opportunities at Florida Atlantic University.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Visits state/community college campuses to meet with students and counsel them on transfer guidelines, requirements, prerequisites, and other admissions related matters.

    Promotes the Link2FAU Program and FAU transfer scholarships.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Maintains contact with businesses, universities, state/community colleges, and community organizations on a regular basis; participates in community outreach efforts.

    Plans and implements workshops, presentations, events, and programs to promote transfer admissions to FAU at schools, businesses, and community events.

  • n

    Counsels prospective transfer students on pathways to facilitate transfer to FAU.

  • n

    Trains peers and support personnel, when applicable, to ensure proper information is disseminated.

  • n

    Coordinates and partners with FAU’s internal stakeholders on transfer and admissions matters.

    Tracks and monitors student visits, communications, and applications for admissions; prepares reports to show return on investment.

    Processes documents, which includes creating applicant files, forwarding/tracking documents to all FAU campuses, copying documents, recording all transactions, managing databases, and reviewing admissions files.

    Provides relevant referrals to other student services which includes offices such as the Military & Veterans Student Success Center, Student Accessibility Services, and Career Services.

    Collaborates with Transfer Advisors and the Office of New Student Transitions & Family Engagement for enrollment processing and onboarding experience.

    Attends and supports New Student Orientation programs for transfer students.

    Performs other job-related duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

n

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization required.

n

This position requires daily contact with students, faculty, staff, and the general public, which includes prospective transfer student advising.

n

Ability to operate a motor vehicle, qualify for car rental, and valid Florida driver’s license are required.

n

Local and regional travel are an integral part of this position.

n

Salary:

n

$50,000 annually.
