Hugh M. Cunningham Companies is seeking a Training and Technical Advisor to join the Factory Support Team (FST). This role serves as a technical resource supporting HMC's sales organization and represents manufacturer brands across plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, water treatment, and hydronic product lines. The Factory Support Team is a technical support resource focused on diagnostics, product training, warranty support, and consultation.

• Experienced in residential and commercial plumbing service, municipal water and waste equipment, and pump technology
• Familiar with backflow prevention device installation, testing, and repair
• TCEQ backflow prevention assembly tester license preferred, or the ability to obtain one
• Strong critical thinking and diagnostic skills
• Familiar with basic electrical concepts and testing, hydronics, plumbing, irrigation, and HVAC
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups and conducting product training sessions in a well-spoken, professional, and coherent manner; full English proficiency required
• Maintains a professional, customer service-oriented approach in all work
• Able to work independently with little direct daily supervision; self-motivated mentality
• Proficient in Microsoft tools, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

Typical work hours: Full time, roughly 40 hours per week. Because training sessions and jobsite needs vary, start and end times shift from day to day rather than following a fixed 9 to 5 schedule. This is a salaried position.

Requirements

• Must be able to travel within assigned territory for trainings and jobsite visits; within territory travel approx. 30%
• Ability to perform tasks in outside environments, including heat, cold, noise, and other varying conditions
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
• Valid driver license and clean driving record must be always maintained
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
