- Secure trailers on lifts and dollies
- Perform tire and brake maintenance
- Rebuild and repair braking systems and trailer components
- Dismount, balance, and mount tires
- Occasionally road-test vehicles
- Work on a production line
- Use proprietary electronic pre-inspection and repair checklist
- Assess and care for field vehicles using U-Haul Company’s proprietary technology
- Lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following supervisor directives and guidance
Requirements
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- 1–2 years of repair experience preferred
- Driver’s license
- Ability to work as part of a team and individually
- Basic computer skills
- Regular attendance
- Ability to work around moving parts, machines, fumes, or chemicals with required safety precautions
- May need to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields
- Ability to remain stationary, traverse spaces, reposition to reach and use tools, and move a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted
- Must not use nicotine products, where applicable under U-Haul policy and state law
