We are seeking a highly motivated person who will work closely with Stantec's project managers on the planning and development of traffic engineering projects. They will assist in developing signing and payment marking designs, traffic signal designs, lighting designs, and ITS designs for various highway, roadway, and light rail traffic engineering projects. They will coordinate with and provide support to the highway and community development groups, and on traffic engineering projects throughout Texas.Your Key ResponsibilitiesUse knowledge of the general concepts of civil, transportation, and traffic engineeringAssist in the development and design of traffic engineering projectsAssist in preparing project plans and drawings for various highway and roadway traffic projectsPerform traffic signal designs, signal timing, ITS planning and design, signing and pavement marking, illumination, roadway, sidewalk, and ADA ramp planning and design, and other related traffic/transportation engineering workAssist in the preparation of plans and reports for relevant project design elements under the guidance and supervision of a licensed professional engineer.Responsible for preparing and coordinating technical activities on assigned projectsConduct basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and other similar materialsEducation and ExperienceBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) minimumEIT certification in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months is requiredInternship or engineering experience is a plusBasic experience using Microstation, AutoCAD and any other relevant design software; Experience with OpenRoads Designer is preferredProficient in Microsoft (MS) Office SuiteDeveloping organizational skills and understanding of task assignment and schedule; Experience handling multiple tasks and deadlinesAbility to participate and collaborate in project team settingAbility to create and interpret sketches, drawings, and various exhibitsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsThis description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Stantec is a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.

At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
