We have implemented a combination of vendor provided order management and execution management systems alongside a suite of proprietary applications to service our end users. We have proprietary software that enhances and integrates with these software packages.OverviewWe are looking for a fulltime resource to join their Application Development team.
The ideal candidate will be a self-directed, mid to senior level software development professional that has a clear track record of contributing to the successful development and implementation of vendor and proprietary based trading systems. The candidate should be able to communicate and collaborate in a team setting with project stakeholders, business users, developers, software architects, software testers, and application support resources. Frequent interaction with traders and portfolio managers will be required.
This position entails requirements gathering, system analysis, software development, system integration, testing and production support responsibilities.Primary ResponsibilitiesWork with business users (Traders, Portfolio Managers & Trading Support) and the existing Trading IT team to design, develop, and implement technical solutions for trading processes, including proprietary software development, third party product implementation\integration, product customization, software enhancements, defect resolution, software version upgrades, and custom reporting.Participate in application requirement sessions with business users and technical staffProvide timely updates on progress of assigned tasks to project managerCoordinate/execute QA test plans before releasing product enhancements for user testingAssist in production release of new functionality and provide assistance in support of production issuesDocument user defined enhancement requests, product gaps, and product bugsPerforms miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Desired Skills and Experience5 years C#.NET development experience3-5 years development experience in MSFT SQL ServerExperience with WCF, WPF, Windows Services, WinForms, and XML is a plusUnderstanding of Order Management and Execution Management SystemsUnderstanding of various securities such as Equities, Options, Futures, FX, Bonds, etc…Understanding of the investment management businessNon-Technical SkillsAbility to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals and meet deadlinesA demonstrated track record working with end users in a time-sensitive environmentAbility to learn new concepts, systems, and software independently and quicklyWillingness to take initiative, seeing problems through to final completion.The ability handle diverse situations and changing prioritiesMust be detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skillsAbility to work effectively and efficiently with little supervision
