Operates within a decentralized compliance model where businesses execute daily activities, while Corporate Trade Compliance sets policy, standards, training, and audit requirements. Serves as the primary corporate compliance contact for assigned businesses, providing guidance, risk oversight, and escalation support.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Unit OversightServe as corporate Trade Compliance governance lead for assigned businessesAct as primary corporate contact for business Trade Compliance Managers or compliance leadsDefine and maintain clear roles and responsibilities between Corporate and business compliance teamsProvide regulatory guidance to support compliant import/export executionEscalate systemic risks and recurring noncompliance to Trade Compliance leadershipPolicies, Standards, and GovernanceDevelop, implement, and maintain corporate Trade Compliance policies and standardsEstablish and enforce minimum compliance requirements and control frameworks applicable across all businessesEnsure business programs align with corporate standards while accommodating operational needsProvide guidance on classification, export controls, recordkeeping, documentation, and nuanced issuesAudits and Risk ManagementPlan and execute business self-assessments and corporate-led compliance auditsEvaluate program effectiveness and assign business risk ratingsIdentify compliance gaps, root causes, and control weaknessesTrack and monitor corrective and preventative action plansSupport business preparation for internal, external, and regulatory auditsTraining and Compliance CultureDevelop and deliver standardized Trade Compliance trainingEnsure consistent training content, frequency, and documentationSupport role-based training for operational stakeholdersPromote a culture of compliance and accountabilityRegulatory and Government EngagementMonitor U.S. and Canadian regulatory changes and communicate impactsSupport responses to government inquiries, audits, and enforcement actionsLiaise with government agencies, customs brokers, and external advisorsSupport internal investigations and remediation activitiesContinuous Improvement and CollaborationIdentify opportunities to improve compliance effectiveness, standardization, and risk reductionPartner with cross-functional teams to address compliance issuesRequired Qualifications8+ years of experience in Trade Compliance, Customs Brokerage, or a related regulatory roleBachelor's degree or higherStrong knowledge of U.S. and Canada import/export regulations, including Customs regulations, EAR, ITAR, and FTR.Experience conducting audits and compliance risk assessmentsProficiency with ACE and SNAP-RProficiency with Microsoft Suite productsStrong analytical, communication, and influencing skillsU.S.
