GFT is seeking a Track Engineering Manager to join our Transportation Team in Audubon, PA. This role follows a remote or hybrid work model depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

What You’ll Be Challenged to Do:
Currently seeking a Track Engineering Manager within our Transit and Freight Rail Sectors. The candidate will work with multi‑discipline teams on wide‑ranging transit and rail projects as well as assisting in maintaining existing client relationships. The successful candidate will have a diverse background with extensive experience with transit and freight rail design and will be an integral part of a project team committed to providing high quality designs.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall Track Project Management including scope development, contract negotiations, staff management, project delivery, quality, and safety.
- Serve as lead Track Engineer on projects.
- Ensure projects are completed within allocated time and budget.
- Provide team leadership and technical expertise.
- Plan, organize, and supervise the work of junior engineers and technicians serving as direct reports.
- Grow and mentor staff, help recruit, and be a positive role model.
- Assist with writing proposals and making presentations.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies such as AREMA.
- Serve as a technical specialist for the organization for an assigned area of responsibility.
- Perform independent reviews of major projects.
Education | Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
- 20+ years of progressive experience in design of major transit/freight rail engineering transportation projects.
- Strong communications skills.
- Strong experience working with transit agencies and/or Class 1 Railroads.
- Ability to lead civil/track aspects on multiple assignments.
- Strong experience in the preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, construction phasing, and construction schedules.
- Extensive working knowledge of OpenRail Designer and Civil3D platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and various engineering and scheduling software.
- Professional Engineer license required.
- Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
Compensation:
Salary range is $190,000‑$230,000. Salary is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
