Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support in areas of 401(k), payroll, workers’ compensation, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA recordkeeping.
- Ensure compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, SOX, ERISA, and oversee mandated reporting to relevant agencies.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government regulations affecting HR functions, ensuring policies, procedures, and reporting are compliant.
- Assist in preparing records and administering benefit programs, personnel changes (hiring, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations), and employee statistics for government reporting.
- Provide backup assistance for payroll processing and attendance tracking.
- Conduct training and orientation on company policies, benefits, safety, and harassment prevention for new employees.
- Administer performance improvement plans, review programs, and discipline processes.
- Investigate employee complaints, provide counseling, and recommend actions on employee relations issues.
- Conduct exit interviews, and analyze trends in turnover and absenteeism.
- Review local market rates annually and provide recommendations.
- Reconcile monthly billing/invoices for group benefits and resolve conflicts.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- 3-5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- PHR certification preferred.
- Proficient in HR systems, payroll systems, spreadsheets, word processing, and publishing software.
- Strong multi-tasking skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and ownership of projects.
- Limited travel required.
