Touch Sensing Hw - Electrical EngineerThe Sensing Systems team integrates optical, capacitive, MEMS, and magnetic sensors across a variety of Apple products such as the Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, and more. Bring devices to life and enable them to interact with users and the environment in ways never invented before. Join us in crafting solutions the world doesn't know of yet. The Watch Touch team is looking for electrical engineers with analog, board-level design experience and is a hard-working go-getter.
Experience with capacitive front-ends, touch sensors, analog circuits, and basic electrostatics is strongly desired. You will design, develop, and launch next-generation touch sensing technologies. You will analyze data to draw conclusions, enhance product design and manufacturability, and drive failure analysis. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams - including Mechanical Engineers, Process Engineers, Reliability Engineers, Test Engineers, and Software Engineers-to deliver state-of-the-art sensing.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop the touch sensing systemSystem-level prototyping, integration, characterization and end-to-end validationSchematic design of boards and flexible assembliesConduct failure mode analysis, root-cause diagnosis, and system-level problem-solving; execute engineering builds and drive cross-functional communication to enhance product design and manufacturabilityBusiness travel up to 10% as requiredMinimum QualificationsElectrical engineering background in analog and mixed-signal system-level circuit design, sensor design, modeling, or analog circuit simulations experiencesHands-on experience with board-level circuit design and lab equipment (microscopes, detector, light sources etc)Scripting experience for data analysis and automationBS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experiencePreferred QualificationsTouch Sensor and systems integration experience preferredExperience in COMSOL, SPICE, or similar simulation and modeling toolsExperience supporting volume manufacturing, including test design, failure analysis, and statisticalExcellent written and verbal communication skills and solid collaboration and leadership skillsStrong teamwork abilities and self-motivation to tackle technical challengesMS or PhD degree in Electrical EngineeringAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
