Tooling TechnicianFull time Americas - North America - United States - Bettendorf - RPSNA Bettendorf (Quad Cities) IATOOLING TECHNICIANPURPOSE:The Tooling Technician is a mid-level technical position that is responsible for setting and maintaining machine processes within acceptable quality parameters for the production of quality blow molded and/or injection molded parts in conformance with product standardsAMCOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Follow all Amcor safety and environmental policies and proceduresFollow OSHA rules and regulationsMonitor quality of product; inspects bottles for defects, inspects boxes for damage and properly follows customer pack patternsCommunicates and cooperates with other employees in a positive and constructive manner to achieve the Goals of the Department and the PlantAdhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines; wear protective clothing, long-sleeved shirt, jeans or slacks, hair net, latex gloves and practices good hygieneWilling and able to work overtime when neededIdentify and report violations and unsafe conditions to appropriate personnelEffectively respond in an Emergency Situation such as Fire, and Accident and direct the activities of othersFollow all Department Procedures and DirectivesJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:The Tooling Technician is required to perform basic mold assembly and maintenance to ensure that tooling is production ready at the time of the scheduled set up.Maintains efficiency, housekeeping, safety and GMP's.Performs in mold disassembly and assembly.Identify potential issues with tooling through visual inspection.Disassemble, clean, inspect and assemble all tooling including all mold components.Prepare tooling for set up and include all necessary components.Identify tooling from prepared set-up sheets necessary for set up.Perform mold PM's at scheduled intervals.Follow daily instructions from the department's supervisor and lead person.Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.Responsible for adhering to Food Safety Compliance.Respond to any emergency or potential emergency.Security diligence, including maintaining control of door accesses, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Amcor employees and proper maintenance/security of Amcor equipment and information.Constant vigilance and participation in GMP and SQF practices.Assist in the prevention of nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality systems.Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes or systems and very the implementation of solutions.All other duties as assignedAUTHORITY:Stop WorkPut product on hold for quality issuesQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma/GED or three years of experience with production equipment or six months as an Amcor PackerMust have the ability to multi-taskMust be able to pass a background check and drug testMust be able to monitor quality of machine outputCapable of lifting (up to 35 pounds).Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarmsMust be able to follow all department procedures and directives.Must be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner.Must have written and verbal communication skillsPREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:Manufacturing experienceExperience with Stretch/ Injection Blow Molding Equipment, especially Nissei, Aoki, Sidel and HuskyComputer skills in Word, Excel Power Point and JDEmaintainingOur ExpectationsOur people are engaged and developing as part of a high-performing Amcor teamOur customers grow and prosper from Amcor's quality, service, and innovationOur investors benefit from Amcor's consistent growth and superior returnsThe environment is better off because of Amcor's leadership and productsAccelerate the possible by joining a winning Amcor team that's transforming the packaging industry and improving lives around the world.At Amcor, we unpack possibility through our innovative and responsible packaging to provide solutions that benefit our customers, our people and our planet.
