Tooling And Automation EngineerResponsible for design assembly processes for products. Perform the research and implement new technologies necessary to tackle complex assembly and automation problems that have direct impact to the quality and production of products. Ensure production's stability and efficiency.Job Functions:Responsible for design, verification, and installation of tooling and fixxtures based upon project progress, timeline, and budget; ensure newly-developed tooling associated with specific project to be effectiveResponsible for all tooling/fixture related work instruction drafting, revision, update, and records keepingProvide direction and mentorship to third party machine/automation suppliers and/or CM's; be the technical leader and driver on owned projects; serve as a technical resource to other engineering groups and project leadersOrganize cross-functional reviews of the machine requirements, design, qualification and capabilityTravel to the machine supplier and contract manufacturer for equipment bring-up, qualification, acceptance testing and support during build eventsResponsible for research and development of new automated cell based on current manufacturing process standards to fulfill the needs of increasing production efficiency, reducing quality issues, and reasonably minimizing cost;Coordination between third party machine/automation suppliers and internal installation/integration team through planning, installation and integration of new automated cell.Designs and develops technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency. Utilize statistical tools (such as GR&R, SPC and Cp/pCk) to ensure processes/fixtures are salable and are continuing to perform properly once qualified.Provide early and on going manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are mechanically manufacturer with existing or being developed equipmentOther duties as assignedNothing in the Position Description restricts management's right to assign or re-assign duties and responsibilities to this job at any timeQualificationsLanguages spoken commonly in the workplace are English; the ability of bilingual, such as mandarin, is a plus.Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, other engineers, leadership and customers.1 to 3 years manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Bachelor's degree and above, major in machine design, manufacturing, and automation or equivalent.Healthy. Able to Travel.

Able to work in a manufacturing environment. The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods. Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip)Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses, hearing protection and steel-toed work bootsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variablesKnowledge of programmingFamiliar with Office software, basic network operations and e-mail reception and sendingProficient with 3D modeling designs, and CAD software as UG, Catia or SolidworksProficient with tooling/fixtures installment and trouble-shooting skillsProficient with robot cell design and robot programmingProficient with PLC and vision programmingFamiliar with the manufacturing technology, especially underlying the assembly processAble to communicate with other department to other technical issues related in tooling/fixturesAble to guide workshop technician, technological operation and new employee trainingInterpersonal and communication skillsAnalysis and judgment capabilityAdaptability to changesReceive training concerning the company profile, basic product processing, company rules and management regulations, department and post workflowFamiliar with the manufacturing technology relating to tempered glasses and laminated glasses, with major quality systems and environmental systems;Must be 18 years of age or older.
