Korn Ferry Military Division has partnered with our client on their search for a Tool Maker (1st Shift) based out of their Elgin IL (40 miles NW of Chicago) facility. They are a global manufacturer of metal die cast precision components, offering plenty of room for career growth.
Compensation: $27.00/hour + (DOE)
What You Will Do :
- Will repair existing dies and develop, cut, shape or form metal work pieces to specifications.
- Troubleshoot and repair tooling that is not performing to standards.
- Works on all conventional machine tools.
- Make necessary adjustments to tooling; ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
- Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools.
- Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
- Responsible for following all safety procedures / regulations and keeping immediate work area clean.
- Additional projects may be assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Education and Work Experience
- At least 4 years US Military Active Duty experience required
- 5+ years tool making experience required (must be familiar with precision measuring tools and have the ability to read blueprints.)
