Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.TOOL CRIB ATTENDANTRESPONSIBILITIES:Receive, store and issue hand tools, replacement tools, shop supplies and equipmentKeep record of tools issued to and returned by workersSearch for lost or misplaced tools and notify supervision as requiredPrepare inventory and requisition stock as neededUnpack and store new equipmentVisually inspect tools for wear and defects, and order replacement tools as necessaryAttach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment as neededAssist repair cycle specialist in maintaining inventories on parts, tools and equipmentAssist management team with the ordering of tools, parts, and equipment within the control of the tool room facilityHandle and dispose of hazardous materialsMaintain technical order files, e-tools, bench stock, shop stock, calibrated tooling and hazardous waste areasPractice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all timesFollow technical data, manuals, regulations, and other maintenance directives as requiredBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalency certificate2+ years of professional experience working in an aviation or aerospace tool room environment; OR 4+ years of professional experience working at a launch or test sitePREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:Associate degree in a mechanical, electrical or computer fieldSolid foundation with streaming low latency live videoExperience with Windows Server 2003, 2008 R2 and Windows 10Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)A strong passion for space explorationAbility to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to assist with hydrotest and/or pneumastat testing on any componentDemonstrated ability to coordinate, create and drive projects to completionFamiliarity with calibrated measurement devices including torque wrenches, dew point meters, etc.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Flight hardware is typically built in tight quarters, and physical dexterity is requiredWork performed in an environment with exposure to fumes, odors and noiseMust be able to work overtime and weekends depending on site operational needsAbility to safely rig and move items under 20,000 lbs.Stand: Up to 10 hours per daySit: Up to 3 hours per dayPush/Pull: Up to 75lbs.
