Tool & Die Technician

Tool And Die MakerThis position is primarily responsible for fabricating, repairing and troubleshooting tooling or fixturing to support manufacturing operations. Duties include complying with established job safety practices, fabricating and repairing machine tools using machining operations and measuring instruments, working from blueprints and sketches to create or modify tools, dies, and jigs, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting new and repair tooling, ensuring that parts and tooling are in accordance with instructions, prints, and work orders, proficient in the use of all shop equipment to maintain and troubleshoot tooling, setting up and operating machine tools, lathes, and grinders, maintaining all assigned machines and equipment including preventative maintenance, performing organizational duties including maintaining an organized and clean work area, and performing welding and heat treating as needed.Competencies must include troubleshooting skills, the ability to read blueprints, the ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions, the ability to interpret a variety of instructions, communication, time management, teamwork, and supervisory responsibility.This role does not have any supervisory responsibility. Required education/skills include a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of Tool and Die apprenticeship training.

Preferred education/skills include a journeyman's card and a minimum of seven years of tool and die experience.Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.This is a full-time position on 1st shift with minimal travel requirements.
