We look for team members who are driven by innovation and excellence, striving to serve our customers by doing what is right—with integrity, teamwork, and accountability.ResponsibilitiesMaintenance of tooling for press equipment and fixtures for assembly equipmentSharpening and making shim sets for punches and diesMake replacement parts with laths, mills, grinders, etc. for tools, fixtures and equipment using drawingsAbility to duplicate broken parts using no drawingsRead and interpret tooling and fixture drawings for repairs and adjustmentsRoutinely perform preventative maintenance on tooling and fixturesProperly document work workers for recordkeeping in the CMMSUse 5-Why Analysis to determine root cause analysis for tooling and fixtures issues and develop countermeasures to eliminate future issuesComplete work while abiding by all safety standardsLook up and order partsUtilize all communication channels such as phone, instant chat, email, face to faceUtilize equipment such as forklift etc. to perform tasksTrain employees on procedures and techniquesHousekeeping and workstation organization tasksOther duties as assignedApplicants must pass an entrance exam. The level at which one is hired (Technician vs. Mechanic) is determined based on educational requirements and experience.Employees may be asked to work other shifts to assist with goals. 2nd shift hours are approximately 1:30pm - 9:30pm (M-F).This position requires a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and background check, which will be administered after a conditional job offer is extended. A negative drug/alcohol test result is required for employment. Refusal to take the test or a positive result may disqualify a candidate from further consideration. All drug testing will be conducted in accordance with federal and state laws.QualificationsPhysical Abilities: Ability to lift up to 40lbs Ability to perform body movements including reaching, pulling, pushing, grasping, turning, bending, squatting, climbing, twisting, and fine manipulation Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day Ability to work with fiberglass, plastic, glue, and insulation Must be able to read and write accurately to document incoming/outgoing materials and supplies Ability to use various hand and machine tools used in tooling and fixture work Must be proficient in Lockout Tagout (LOTO) Must be aware of Hazard Communication and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Ability to read tooling and fixture drawings Familiar with the use of a CNC mills, surface grinders, and machining methods Knowledge and experience in draw dies, progressive dies, and blanking dies Experience with maintenance of and troubleshooting of tooling and fixturesJourneyman Tool & Die Certificate, equivalent trade school degree, or two years related machine shop experience.
