Title I Paraprofessional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support the educational needs of students at IB Perrine Elementary School as a Title I Paraprofessional. This part-time position involves working closely with teachers and students to provide assistance in a variety of classroom settings. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that enhances student achievement.

Responsibilities:

• Assist classroom teachers in implementing instructional plans and activities for students, particularly those who require additional support.
• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to students in reading, writing, and math.
• Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and engagement, providing feedback to teachers as needed.
• Help prepare instructional materials and classroom resources to enhance learning experiences.
• Support students in developing social skills and positive behaviors.
• Assist with classroom management and maintain a safe and organized learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to identify student needs and implement appropriate interventions.
• Participate in professional development and training as required.

Requirements:

• 2 years of college, an AA degree, or successfully completed the ParaPro Assessment (Praxis Exam)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, teachers, and parents.
• Ability to remain patient, calm, and supportive in challenging situations.
• Proficiency in using technology and educational software relevant to special education.
• Ability to lift and assist students as needed for mobility and participation in activities.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and comply with school district policies and procedures.
