Core Responsibilities
- Operate Equipment: Set up and run basic TIG welding machines, gas regulators, and torches.
- Prepare Materials: Clean, cut, grind, and deburr metal parts (such as stainless steel or aluminum) before welding.
- Read Blueprints: Follow simple technical drawings, measurements, and work orders to align components correctly.
- Execute Welds: Produce clean, foundational TIG welds on standard or non-critical parts.
- Inspect Quality: Check finished pieces for obvious flaws, cracks, or surface errors.
- Maintain Safety: Wear required protective gear and keep the work area clean and safe.
Requirements
- Experience: 2 years of hands-on TIG welding practice (often including school shop time or entry-level manufacturing work).
- Education: High school diploma or a technical school welding certificate.
