Facilities Worker

Facilities workers are the front-line for the overall maintenance and improvement of the physical grounds and buildings of Thousand Pines.

Wage: $19.00 per hour or above, depending on experience level.

Essential Functions
  1. Repair and maintenance of camp vehicles, facilities, and property
  2. Landscaping and groundskeeping
  3. Safe operation of tractors and trucks
  4. Safe operation of various minor equipment and tools
Additional Functions
  1. Assisting other departments when facilities-related needs arise i.e. moving furniture, ladder work, heavier lifting, etc.
  2. Assisting with weather-related issues: snow removal, water damage, roofing issues, etc.
  3. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications
  1. Minimum of a high school diploma
  2. Must be able to work some weekends and odd hours
  3. Current driver license
  4. Godly, Christian character
  5. Current CPR and First Aid certifications
  6. Agreement with Thousand Pines mission-vision-values, doctrinal statement, and compliance with employee handbook
Physical Demands
  1. Ability to work outside in inclement/extreme weather conditions (hot and cold)
  2. Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  3. Ability to stand for long periods of time
  4. Abilities sufficient to carry out the essential functions of the job, including good balance
Tasks May Include:
  1. Weed whacking
  2. Painting
  3. Minor repair on camp vehicles and equipment
  4. Using mechanized tools and equipment
  5. Using manual tools and equipment
  6. Using a backpack blower and/or push blower
  7. Moving bunk beds, furniture, or other heavy items
  8. Holding heavy items in place
  9. Lifting and carrying materials and supplies, ladders, hoses, tools, equipment, boxes, bed frames, etc.
  10. Walking and standing for long periods of time, walking backwards while carrying items
  11. Roof work, tree work, working on scaffolding, at heights above 20 feet

  4. Reaching
  5. Lifting
  6. Pulling
  7. Pushing
  8. Squatting
  9. Climbing/Descending ladders
  10. Digging
  11. Watering, moving heavy hoses
  12. Sweeping and shoveling
  13. Mowing grass with a hand or motorized lawn mower
  14. Raking
  15. Crawling: under buildings, vehicles, furniture, equipment
  16. Walking on uneven surfaces and terrain
