Speech Pathologist

Provide services to patients who have speech and language problems. Participate in the development of speech therapy plans of care for patients. Make visits to patients for initial and ongoing assessments to identify their level of functioning and ability to communicate, including assessments at appropriate time points. Communicate with the physician before the start of care and as needed. Implement the plans of care. Provide education and instruction to team members, patients, and families. Document care and submit paperwork accurately and in a timely manner to update and maintain patient medical records. Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients, and visitors require effective verbal communication and the ability to hear and understand spoken information quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity is needed to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use. If driving is required, a current driver's license, insurance, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record are necessary. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Versatility and interpersonal communication abilities are required. Critical thinking and decision-making skills are a must. Attention to detail, time management, and quality improvement skills are important. Adaptability, active listening, dependability, and compassion are key attributes.
