Therapist - Respiratory Therapist

Job Description
Job Summary:
Provide specialized respiratory therapy services to patients, managing ventilators, BIPAP/CPAP, oxygen therapy, and blood gas analysis in a fast-paced clinical environment. Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care and safety during shifts.
Responsibilities:

• Administer respiratory treatments and medications following physician directives.
• Monitor and operate ventilators, BIPAP/CPAP devices, and blood gas machines.
• Assess patient respiratory status and adjust treatments as necessary.
• Document patient care outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to develop and implement care plans.
• Respond promptly to emergency respiratory needs and provide emergent interventions.

Qualifications:

• Hold current Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and VA State license.
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of ICU or acute care respiratory therapy experience.
• Proven ability to manage mechanical ventilators and blood gas analysis.
• Adapt to a fast-paced environment and display excellent clinical judgment.
• Exhibit strong communication and teamwork skills.
