Therapist - Respiratory Therapist

n Job Summary:n
n The Respiratory Therapist administers all forms of routine and advanced respiratory therapies, providing critical care support within the department. This role requires assessing patient needs, managing ventilator and airway interventions, and collaborating with medical personnel to optimize patient outcomes.n

n Responsibilities:n

• n Administer various respiratory therapy modalities and techniques according to physician orders.n
• n Evaluate the effectiveness of therapy and adjust treatment plans accordingly.n
• n Assist physicians in interpreting data from invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures.n
• n Perform invasive procedures such as arterial punctures and evaluate results to monitor patient response.n
• n Document patient care accurately and assist in training new staff and departmental education programs.n
• n Ensure safety compliance by maintaining equipment, monitoring cylinder levels, and participating in safety protocols.n

n Qualifications:n

• n Hold a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from N.B.R.C. and a valid NYS license.n
• n Possess at least six months of hospital-based experience.n
• n Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of respiratory equipment, pathology, and clinical applications.n
• n Exhibit strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information to medical staff.n
• n Maintain BLS certification; PFT certification strongly preferred.n
• n Capable of managing complex patient data and demonstrating leadership in clinical settings.n
