Occupational Therapy Assistant

Provides rehabilitative occupational therapy services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders. Ensures effective treatment plans, documentation, and communication to support patient recovery and progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Support clinical interventions using evidence-based practices to promote patient recovery.
  • Administer various therapeutic procedures, including ADL retraining, exercises, modalities, and assistive device use.
  • Assess patient progress regularly and communicate findings to supervising Occupational Therapist for treatment adjustments.
  • Document all treatment activities, patient responses, and progress in electronic health records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate care, discharge planning, and provide consultations to patients and families.
  • Support and supervise students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist and participate in team meetings and trainings.

Qualifications:

  • Hold active State Licensure/Registration as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Possess at least 1 year of OTA experience, with prior LTC or SNF experience required.
  • Be able to document and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrate adherence to NBCOT / AOTA and State practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics.
  • New graduates are welcome if they have Level II clinical experience.
