Job Summary:
The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supports rehabilitation teams by providing therapeutic interventions to patients under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This position is critical in assisting patients to regain essential skills and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist to meet patient goals.
- Document patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising therapist.
- Assist in patient evaluations and prepare treatment areas for therapy sessions.
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises and activities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized treatment environment.
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license or credential.
- Minimum of a relevant Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting.
- Proven experience working in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt to diverse patient needs and treatment plans.
