Role Description The Therapeutic Mentor role is a part-time, hybrid position based in Boulder County. In this role, the mentor provides one-on-one support to clients, helping them develop coping skills, build routines, and practice healthy behaviors in real-world settings. Day-to-day tasks include meeting with clients in the community, collaborating with families and other providers, and documenting progress toward goals. The mentor also assists clients in navigating school, work, and social situations, offering coaching, encouragement, and practical strategies for problem-solving. The position requires maintaining professional boundaries, adhering to agency guidelines, and participating in supervision and team meetings.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills and interpersonal communication abilities to build rapport, trust, and effective mentoring relationships.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, including active listening and the ability to explain concepts in an accessible way.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in mentoring, coaching, or supportive roles.
  • Background in community outreach or community-based services, with comfort supporting clients in various real-life environments.
  • Relevant education or training in psychology, social work, counseling, education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Ability to work independently, manage a flexible schedule, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practice.
  • Reliable transportation for meeting clients in the Boulder, CO area and ability to pass any required background checks.
  • $35-$42/hr
