Senior Communications AdvisorThe Ohio Democratic Party is hiring a Senior Communications Advisor to support Democrats up and down the ballot this cycle. This is a senior-level role focused on developing and executing the communications strategy to hold Senator Husted accountable ahead of the 2026 election. This person will lead a sophisticated rapid response operation, create press plans, build events, pitch stories, and serve as an on-the-record spokesperson for the state party.Core competencies include:Develop and execute earned media strategy to hold Senator Husted accountable ahead of the 2026 electionWork with the campaign for the eventual Democratic U.S.

Senate nominee and the state party on earned media strategies to support the Ohio U.S. Senate race and Democrats up and down the ballotBuild and maintain relationships with the state and local press corpsServe as the primary spokesperson for the party regarding the Ohio U.S. Senate raceQuickly draft and edit communications materials including press releases and talking pointsBuild press conferences and eventsPitch trend, analysis, and opposition research storiesStrong preference for two to three cycles of campaign or political communications experienceTrack record of successfully working directly with reporters and on-the-record experiencePersonal characteristics include:Passionate and thoughtful about what and how they do work and whom they work withResilient, resourceful, and adaptive to priority shifts and change (big and small)Kind but willing to apply soft elbows when neededRealistic but positive in outlook, not ego- or turf-driven, able to focus on opportunities when faced with challengesCollaborative by natureFully invested in the success of Ohio DemocratsTeam player attitude and committed to working well with othersDemonstrated commitment to Democratic causesTo apply, please fill out this form: salary will be $7,000-$8,000 per month, commensurate with experience.

Full benefits including PTO as needed, health, dental, and voluntary vision insurance. The hourly expectation will fluctuate depending on the campaign cycle, but will be a minimum of 40 hours per week.
