The Field Security Technical Advisor

The Field Security Technical Advisor is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks related to the organisation’s physical security infrastructure, electronic security systems, and tactical communication networks. This role focuses heavily on CCTV, access control, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems, Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM), blast mitigation, and ballistic protection. Candidates must demonstrate direct hands-on experience across technical design, on-site installation, and lifecycle maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct Physical Security Risk Assessments: Perform comprehensive on-site assessments, audits, and technical site surveys of facilities to evaluate the design, implementation, and operational effectiveness of physical security measures and operational communications.

System Installation & Technical Oversight: Oversee and execute the end-to-end installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of electronic security hardware, tactical LMR systems, and physical hardening barriers to ensure zero-fail operational readiness.

Core Competencies & Requirements

Technical Mastery: In-depth technical knowledge and proven installation experience covering Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), access control systems, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Land Mobile Radio (LMR) platforms, and structural hardening measures (HVM, blast, and ballistic protection).

Analytical Skills: Expert ability to gather open-source intelligence (OSINT), dissect regional crime statistics, and translate raw data into actionable risk matrices.

Communication & Client Relations: Strong interpersonal and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) skills, with the ability to build consensus and present complex technical security briefs to corporate stakeholders.

Standards & Frameworks: Deep familiarity with ISO frameworks, telecommunications standards (e.g., LMR interoperability protocols), global security engineering guidelines, and physical security industry benchmarks.
