TH Surgical Technologist 2 (SOT)

Job Summary

• Describes anatomy/steps for surgeries
• Uses sterile technique
• Assists surgical team with procedure
• Collaborates with other members of the OR team
• Transports patients
• Demonstrates knowledge of normal growth and development in the delivery of care
• Facilitates open communication with all team members
• Initiates and supports the teaching/mentoring process
• Maintains a safe work environment
• Resolves problems on a one-to-one basis
• Takes an active role in professional development
• Participates in development/implementation of educational programs for surgical technologist program
• Demonstrates the ability to perform surgical technology skills for all general and specialty based cases

Minimum Qualifications

Must be eligible for certification by Association of Surgical Technologists through completion of a formal certificate or degree program in Surgical Technology or by meeting the Association of Surgical Technologists experience requirements, plus one year experience as a Surgical Technologist or comparable position in an acute care setting required.

Work Days

Full-time (40 hours a week) and part-time opportunities available on varying shifts including days, evenings, and nights. Weekends and holiday rotation as required by bargaining agreements.
