The Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning vision is to build bridges to the community to create a more engaged campus, cultivate social responsibility, and develop a vibrant learning environment for UHD students. Our department is seeking a student worker for our office, as well as student workers to place at off-campus nonprofit or government organizations for fall/spring semesters.

For On-Campus Positions
Students must meet the following qualifications and responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support and assist with daily office operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of departmental events and special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Students must meet the following qualifications:
- Must have reliable transportation to the job placement site.
- There are two types of positions that students may fill as participants in the program:
- Community Engagement Interns will be placed with a local nonprofit organization in an area related to their academic major or specific interests.
- Tutors generally work in educational settings (schools or nonprofit organizations) to help elementary school students improve their understanding of math, science, or reading.
- Job duties will be determined by the nonprofit or government organization.
- Students must represent UHD professionally and adhere to all confidentiality policies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Reliable, punctual, and organized.
- Must be a current UHD student.
- Must be enrolled in at least six credit hours.
- Must have been awarded a Federal College Work-Study award from the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.
