To ensure accurate coding of inpatient medical records, the remote Texas Licensed Coding Specialist will review and code both inpatient and outpatient records according to current guidelines, while also mentoring lower-level coding staff. Key responsibilities Code inpatient accounts using ICD-10 CM/PCS in compliance with official coding guidelines Abstract required data elements and identify when physician queries are necessary for clarification Maintain quality and productivity standards while mentoring and training coding staff as needed Required qualifications 3 to 5 years of acute hospital-based coding experience Experience working in a remote environment Licensure as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS upon hire Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or a closely related field preferred
