To support coding operations, the full-time Texas Licensed Coding Specialist will review and code inpatient and outpatient medical records remotely, ensuring compliance with current coding guidelines and mentoring junior coders as needed. Key responsibilities Code inpatient accounts using ICD-10 CM/PCS while adhering to official coding guidelines Abstract required data elements and identify when physician queries are necessary for clarification Maintain quality and productivity standards set by the organization and mentor junior coding staff Required qualifications 3 to 5 years of acute hospital-based coding experience Experience working in a remote environment Texas Licensed Coding Specialist certification (RHIA, RHIT, or CCS) upon hire Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or a closely related field preferred Expert knowledge of coding-related guidelines and practices
