To support a high-volume hospital cancer registry, the full-time Texas Licensed Cancer Registrar will manage case-finding and abstracting core data, ensuring compliance with ACoS guidelines and Texas State Department of Health Services requirements while working remotely. Key responsibilities Identifies and abstracts data from patient medical records, including demographics and treatment information Codes data into the database according to protocol requirements and maintains follow-up percentages as mandated Educates registry personnel on data collection methods and participates in continuing education programs Required qualifications Associate's degree or equivalent work experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in cancer registry or related field Certification as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS-C) preferred General knowledge of healthcare modalities, therapies, and terminology Ability to abstract and code diagnosis and treatment data using standard registry coding references
