Testing Services Test Analyst (Onsite)Functional Area - Quality Assurance & Testing – Microsoft AX/SAP SupplyChainJob Location - Houston, TXPurpose Statement - Seeking an experienced Test Analyst for one of our programs. This person should have excellent testing experience in ERP systems MS Dynamics AX/SAP – SupplyChain ModuleAccountabilities & Responsibilities -Participate in the development of test strategies/plansIdentify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and ensure test coverageCo-Ordinate with offshore team in planning, assignment and trainingParticipate in project meetings on project status and design reviewsPrepare verification and validation test scenarios, cases and test reportsUpdate the test cases upon receiving the inputs from Test LeadPrepare test data based on test scenariosBackend database testing in Microsoft SQL environment including validating stored procedures, jobs and triggersPerform functional verification and validation testing of hardware and software that includes component, integration, end-to-end & regressionPosting defects into Quality Center and tracking them to closure. Participate Defect triage meetingsParticipate in Defect Triage callsFollow the testing methodology, techniques & standards in the project and ensure that testing is performed as plannedProvide status reports to the QA Lead as necessaryMeasures of success -Testing risks are appropriately logged, communicated and controlledBuilds and maintains strong relationships with project staff, the business community and third party suppliersSupports and encourages offshore teams to attain the project goalTaking ownership of the work and deliver the quality outputDefect detection ratio and Test case execution ratioEnsure defect rejections are within the set project thresholdsResources available to the job holder -3rd Party Testing servicesInternal Test TeamsTest ToolsSafety - Understand the health, safety, environmental & associated legal requirements that are relevant to the work and ensure the team complies with these.
Help the team to understand and actively promote issues regarding health, safety & the environment.Dimensions of Role -Type of Role: QA AnalystOperational Dimensions: The QA Analyst role is focused on ensuring the requirements are understood and design the test cases to identify the defects in the application as much as possibleThe role is responsible for the quality of the testing conducted within specific service areas and hence crucial for the success of projectsQA Analyst onsite role should ensure proper communication with offshore team for any kind of changes to the requirements, test scenarios and test casesWorking Relationships -Must develop and maintain strong working relationships with the 3rd party service suppliers. Must measure the services, steer them when required and hold them accountable when they do not meet the required standardMust develop and maintain strong working relationship with Onsite Manager, Onsite Lead, Project Managers, Environment Service Managers and business stakeholders.Skills, Knowledge & Expertise -Must have at least 5-6 years of experience in software testingMust have Quality Center knowledgePrior testing experience in MS Dynamics AX implementation/SAP implementation. AX will be preferredMust have experience in ERP SupplyChain Module and good understanding of SupplyChain Module process and configurationsInterfaces Testing ExperienceUnderstand all facets of the MS Dynamics AX implementation including but not limited to Test Data Management, FSA (web and mobile) and other modules of MS DynamicsStrong knowledge of the testing fundamentals including but not limited to testing process, estimation techniques, defect management, etc.Hands on experience building base test suite, assessing the regression test needs.Working knowledge of SQL, HTML and XML and internet browsersMust be able to perform work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks and demands simultaneouslyShould be able to support the offshore team in clarifications and peer reviews of the test casesGood knowledge on SQL and basic understanding on database conceptsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh standards of professionalism, integrity, and work ethicsUnderstanding of software testing and systems architecture approachesKnowledge and Qualifications -ISTQB – Expert Test Management Certification is added advantage.Essential Skills -DAX/SAP knowledge on SupplyChain ModuleDAX/SAP project testing experience.ALM & TFS KnowledgeDesirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience -ISTQB – Improving the Test Process CertificationProcess Improvement – Lean Six SigmaKey Leadership Behaviours - Able to handle offshore team.
