Electronic Test Technician, Level III | Poway, CA
About the Role
Our client, a global leader in aerospace and defense technology, is seeking an experienced Electronic Test Technician to join its Avionics team in the PWA Test Group. You will test, troubleshoot, and repair advanced electronic systems and assemblies that support mission-critical aerospace programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, perform, and analyze tests per established procedures, and accurately record results
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in electronic systems and equipment down to the PWA/component level
- Interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and technical publications
- Operate and maintain test equipment, including DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and signal generators
- Repair electrical, electronic, and integrated circuits with precision
- Provide technical guidance, training, and support to other technicians
- Use materials, tools, and equipment properly to maximize efficiency
- Collaborate with the team to resolve technical challenges, and escalate complex issues as needed
- Follow safety protocols, especially around high-voltage, high-pressure, high-energy, cryogenic, or other hazardous systems
Must-Have Qualifications
- Associate’s degree plus a minimum of 2 years of related experience, OR 5+ years of related experience without a degree
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting down to the component level
- Strong knowledge of electronics fundamentals: Ohm’s Law, op-amp circuits, AC/DC conversion
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD security clearance (or the ability to obtain and maintain one, which is required)
- Military or technical school training in test/experimental operations
- Proficiency with RF systems and components (amplifiers, filters, oscillators, mixers) and skill in diagnosing RF issues
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, voltmeters, DMMs, function generators, LabVIEW, and programming tools (ICD 2/3/4, CPLD, J-Link)
- Strong attention to detail, adaptability to changing priorities, and effective communication skills
- Team-oriented, positive, solution-focused attitude

After the interview, candidates will complete a technical assessment covering electrical knowledge and electronics formulas and theory.
