Test TechnicianAs a Test Technician at Impulse Space, you will own all aspects of test equipment implementation and operation while working closely with a fast paced, agile team. Note: This position qualifies for a Mojave differential pay.ResponsibilitiesFabricate, assemble, operate and maintain test equipmentPerform testing operations on a variety of test equipment including pressurization and propellant systemsOperate fluid and mechanical systemsMaintain tools, service shop equipment, and stock consumables.Provide direct test support for rocket engine testingPerform Pneumatic and Hydro Proof testingSupports the shop standard of a clean and well-organized shop based on 5S regulationsMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate5+ years of professional experience in aerospace or other relevant operations or test environmentExperience with the safe operation of pressure, electrical, power and data acquisition systemsProficient with basic fabrication tools and processes (electric/pneumatic power tools)Ability to fabricate parts and assemblies from basic technical requirementsAbility to be flexible and adapt to ever changing situationsCapable of working in team and or solo environmentComfortable working outdoors year roundPreferred Skills and ExperienceAbility to work in a fast-paced demanding environmentAttention to detail and accuracy while working within a fast-paced production environmentDemonstrated experience with calibration/metrology of pressure, flow, temperature, and electrical test devicesPerform pneumatic and hydro proof testingBuild and maintain test facilities including propellant, high pressure, cryogenic, pneumatic and hydraulic systemsDisassembly and precision cleaning of valves, regulators and other componentsAbility to read, understand and follow detailed schematics, drawings, P&ID's and InstructionsPerform fabrication, installation, and maintenance of fluid systems, Panels, and tubingPerform system level troubleshooting of test stand equipment and hardwareRepairs and services high pressure hydraulic and gaseous systemsTubing fabrication- Bending, flaring, and installing tubes for multiple applicationsWork alongside engineers to build and maintain rocket motors, test articles, and execute procedures for hazardous operationsProficient with precision calibrated tools: torque wrenches, micrometers, calipersAbility to operate Warehouse Forklift, Telehandler, Boom liftCompensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
