Test Technician (Avionics)As a Test Technician, you will perform a wide range of spacecraft component and assembly testing while developing and maintaining state-of-the-art test equipment. You will work closely with engineering to improve overall test processes across the company.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with test engineers to design and implement complex test setups for development and/or production environments (e.g. integrated systems testing in a thermal vacuum chamber with additional instrumentation for model validation)Work with test engineers, manufacturing engineers, production technicians to improve production test processes and improve acceptance test flow and automationPerform maintenance and calibration activities for environmental and robotic test equipmentRespond to production related non-conformances and drive to root cause and dispositionMaintain process planning documents and action feedback when necessaryProvide training and guidance to other techniciansProvide training and guidance to engineers regarding practical test setups and instrumentationSupport the avionics test team's participation when interfacing with related departments (e.g. integrated vehicle testing or propulsion testing)Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate4+ years of experience working on electronic or propulsion assemblies and/or test production environment or a bachelor's degree in an engineering fieldDeep knowledge of the safe operation of electrical, power, and data acquisition systemsProficient with wiring and electrical systemsProficient with fabricating and acquiring parts to build test capabilities from basic requirements with minimal direction from othersAbility to troubleshoot problems with electrical systems and implement scrappy solutionsPreferred Skills and ExperienceAssociate degree or bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering7+ years of demonstrated professional experience providing support for the production and test of highly complex components (e.g. cars, battery systems, valves, actuators)Experience designing tooling in a hardware development environmentCapable of solving complex problems with little to no supervision on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated teamAbility to use CAD tools to design 3D printable and/or sheet metal fixturesFamiliarity with RF test equipmentCompensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data.
Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
