Job Title: Test Technician
Shift: 2nd Shift 4/10
Schedule: M-Th | 3:30 pm - 1:30 am (Must be able to train on 1st shift if needed)
3 "Must Haves" (Required):
Electro-mechanical assembly and knows how to read prints/work instructions
Has used Thermal and vibration testing equipment
Has a good foundation of how to use multi-meters and power supplies
3 "Nice to Haves" (Optional): Has experience troubleshooting PCBAs/ Has a good foundation of how to read schematics/ Self-starter
Preferred Certifications: IPC-610/ J-STD
Years of Experience (Required): 1+ years of relevant experience
Job Designation:
The Test Technician completes work according to instructions, specifications, and procedures. Conducts a variety of tests and verifications on electro and electromechanical equipment, while providing accuracy, productivity, and on-time delivery.
Job Core Responsibilities:
• Performs a range of routine mechanical and/or electromechanical testing of small parts or components in accordance with company instructions and procedures
• Reviews shop traveler route card or schematic drawings to confirm correct sequence of operation
• Perform a variety of tests to verify circuitry and to test the effectiveness of components in amplifiers and electronic equipment.
• Receive parts or units from customers and troubleshoot circuits and components using schematic drawings and prints as a verification check.
• Perform tests and diagnostics using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVM, signal generators, power meters, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, frequency counters, and other related test equipment
• Sets up test equipment and tests per specification
• Performs troubleshooting and failure analysis of analog and digital circuitry malfunctions to the micro component level
• Provides detailed written failure description with root cause analysis to production and engineering
• Follows written and verbal instructions, adheres to all company guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment, an acceptable safety record, and follows company safety rules
• Other responsibilities as assigned
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Job Specifications:
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
Skills:
• Strong electrical background with understanding of microelectronics.
• Strong knowledge in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies
• Good reading and comprehension skills to understand regulations and instructions
• Ability to analyze and determine methods and procedures
• Good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows software applications
