Test Technician I - InstrumentsLocation: Sparks, MD 21152 (Onsite) Duration: 12 months (possible extension) Pay Rate: $25/hour on W2 Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)Job OverviewThe Test Technician I is responsible for instrument assembly, system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. This role involves analyzing test data, identifying issues, and ensuring instruments meet performance and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform assembly, integration, and testing of instrumentsExecute functional and release testing on moderately complex systemsAnalyze test data to determine pass/fail resultsTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and basic software issuesIdentify defects and recommend process or design improvementsOptimize system performance based on testing outcomesRead and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and specificationsTrain and support team members on testing and assembly processesCollaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Planning teamsFollow GMP, safety, and quality standardsPerform material handling and production support tasksMaintain a clean and safe work environmentSupport continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/Kaizen)Work overtime as neededRequired QualificationsEducation & ExperienceAssociate degree in Mechatronics or related field OR5 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or software troubleshootingTechnical SkillsExperience with instrument testing and troubleshootingKnowledge of mechanical tools (torque drivers, gauges, etc.)Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsUnderstanding of GMP and quality proceduresBasic computer skills (Windows environment)Strong math and analytical skillsCore CompetenciesProblem-solving and troubleshooting abilityStrong attention to detail and qualityAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritiesTeam collaboration and communication skillsLeadership potential (mentoring/training others)Adaptability to changing assignments and production needsPreferred SkillsExposure to Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement (Kaizen, Blitzes)Experience working in a manufacturing or production environmentWork EnvironmentOnsite manufacturing settingHands-on role involving assembly, testing, and equipment handling
