Testing Lead – Overview

Position Title: Testing Lead
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Clearance Requirements: Must have or be eligible for a Public Trust (Postal)
Position Status: Long-Term Contract Position

We are seeking an experienced Testing Lead to support a high-visibility federal program focused on large‑scale data processing, service performance measurement, and real‑time analytics. This role supports the Informed Visibility (IV) platform—a mission‑critical federal application that processes over 2 billion records daily to improve mail tracking, predictive workload forecasting, and operational decision‑making.

The Testing Lead will oversee end‑to‑end testing strategy, manage cross‑functional testing teams, and ensure high‑quality delivery across complex releases. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior testing professional with strong leadership abilities, deep understanding of Agile/DevOps environments, and experience supporting large enterprise or federal systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the overall testing strategy across multiple application components
  • Manage and allocate resources for automation testers, functional testers, and CAT testers
  • Coordinate test environment needs with the Environment Management and SCRUM teams
  • Oversee test planning, execution, reporting, and quality assurance processes
  • Provide mentorship, cross‑training, and support to internal and vendor testing teams
  • Lead Chaos Engineering and High Availability (HA) testing initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with application leadership, business stakeholders, and executive teams
  • Ensure alignment with Agile, DevOps, and SDLC best practices
  • Prepare testing reports, risk assessments, and release readiness documentation

Required Skills / Education

  • 5+ years of experience as a Testing Lead, QA Lead, or Senior QA Engineer
  • Strong background in test planning, test case development, and defect management
  • Hands‑on experience with HP ALM or similar test management tools
  • Proficiency in manual testing and understanding of when to leverage automation
  • Ability to build or manage test automation frameworks (Selenium, UFT, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and query development
  • Experience testing web services using tools like Postman
  • Understanding of Agile, DevOps pipelines, and CI/CD best practices
  • Experience testing in cloud environments (GCP or Azure strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with work management platforms (VersionOne, Jira, or similar)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead cross‑functional teams
