Description: Quality Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) & Metrology operations (Level 5)
nThe leader chosen for this position will lead a team of NDT/NDI Test Engineers and represented inspectors.
nThis highly dynamic team continually introduces new technology and techniques in the most advanced programs at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics.
nThe leader supervises a staff of 8 direct reports and 21 employees.
nThe leaders will ensure adequate staffing, training, and personnel development.
nThe majority of the team supports first shift operations though support is provided 24/7.
nThe position oversees and proactively manages X-ray, CT, UT and other NDI equipment.
nHeavy involvement in capital request development and procurement.
nDevelops and supports external contract development and implementation as appropriate.
nManages travel of employees to support NDI needs at multiple locations.
nCreates Basis of Estimates (BOE) for contracts and supports negotiations through award of contract.
nResponsible for budgetary tracking and adherence. Will lead discussions and issue resolution between Engineering/Procurement/Production and other Enterprise organizations.
nCreates and conducts presentations to top levels of management for the Palmdale site.
nMust be a US Citizen. This position supports a facility that requires special access.
nActive SECRET clearance with investigation within last 5 years.

nBasic Qualifications:
n-Bachelor’s degree in STEM field (Engineering, Math, Technology or Science) or equivalent experience
n- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a quality or production environment
n- Working knowledge of AS9100 Quality requirements
n- Working knowledge of bonded assembly inspection & calibration operations
n- Manufacturing engineering or Quality experience in a lead capacity
n- Prior supervisory or project lead experience directing hourly & salaried personnel in production environment
n- Experience oversight & management of skills certification programs
n-Experience managing record retention & data archival for production or calibration records or other production records
nDesired Skills:
n- Advanced degree in STEM field or Eng Management a definite plus
n- Familiarity with NDI specifications including NAS 410, SAE-I- 6870, LM PM 8006
n- Ability to interact with both contractor and customer representatives to develop a non-destructive inspection plan, schedules and cost estimates
n- Experience with Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) requirements and collaboration with ASIP engineering specialists
n- Experience with Electronic engineering drawing, data packages, and manufacturing work instructions
n- Automated dimensional measurement techniques
n- Prior automated inspection experience
n- Experience with digital thread systems
n- Good customer relationship management skills
n- Prior experience managing the acquisition of Large Capital NDT equipment
n- Demonstrated ability to work with government customers
n- Aerospace NDT experience

nWork Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
nSchedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
nPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
