Test Engineer - Stress/Strain (Lab/Office Mix)Location: Mossvile ILThis team helps make sure that the parts used in heavy equipment—like bolts, joints, and metal components—are strong, safe, and reliable. They do this by running hands-on tests in a lab to see how these parts hold up under stress, pressure, and repeated use.They work closely with other engineers and technicians to:Plan and run experiments that simulate real-world conditionsUse special tools and sensors to measure how parts performAnalyze the results to understand when and why parts might failShare their findings with other teams to help improve designsIdeal Technical SkillsKnowledge of fatigue mechanics or fracture behaviorUnderstanding of stress and strainExperience with mechanical testing (fatigue, tensile, failure testing)Familiarity with instrumentation (e.g., strain gauges, load cells)Statistical/data analysis of test resultsFixture design for mechanical testing (minimal but beneficial)Experience with CAD tools (e.g., Creo) – minimal but beneficialHands-on experience in a lab or test environment
