This entry-level engineering role is ideal for candidates with a strong electrical engineering foundation who are seeking hands-on experience in utility substation environments.The position requires a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, relay logic, PLC systems, and substation protection equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesProtection & Control TestingInstall, maintain, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying systemsPerform calibration and functional testing of protection relays and associated devicesInstall, program, and maintain microprocessor relaysSupport commissioning and testing activities in substationsTechnical Systems & EquipmentWork with systems including:Microprocessor relaysProgrammable Logic Controllers (PLCs)Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)SensorsPumps and motorsAC and DC control systemsDocumentation & ComplianceAssist in developing and maintaining protection and control documentationParticipate in process hazard analyses (PHA)Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulationsMaintain awareness of current industry trends and best practicesField SupportAssist project leads with field assignmentsSupport troubleshooting and outage response activities as neededRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentBachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred)0–3 years of related engineering experienceAbility to read and interpret electrical schematicsWorking knowledge of PLCs and HMIsExperience with AC and DC systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsMust live within a reasonable commute to the assigned APC office location
