Test EngineerThe Test Engineer supports the successful introduction and continuous improvement of products by ensuring they meet functional, performance, safety, and customer requirements. This role serves as a bridge between product development and real-world application, working closely with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and field teams to plan, execute, and document comprehensive validation activities.The ideal candidate is technically curious, detail-oriented, and proactive in solving problems. This individual plays an important role in supporting product quality, customer satisfaction, and continued market growth.Reports to: R&D Manager Main collaboration with: Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, QualityThe Test Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and managing validation activities to ensure products meet functional, performance, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
This role partners closely with design, development, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout the product lifecycle to verify product performance and help ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Validation and TestingLead and support validation of new and existing products, including functional, performance, environmental, and compliance testingExecute feasibility test plans and assist in developing test cases for new product conceptsConduct prototype, alpha, and beta testing for engineering builds and provide clear feedback to development teamsIdentify issues, document defects, and collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to resolve problems prior to releasePerform competitive product testing and benchmarking to better understand market expectations and support product improvementsPrototype and Early-Stage EvaluationParticipate in prototype evaluations, proof-of-concept testing, and new product feasibility studiesSupport rapid product iteration by gathering test data, analyzing performance, and communicating findings to Engineering and Product teamsEngineering Change and Current Product SupportValidate engineering changes for existing products to ensure quality and performance remain consistentSupport field issue investigations by recreating problems, testing hypotheses, and providing structured reports to support root cause analysisAssist with custom product requests and engineering change requests from a validation and testing perspectiveDocumentation and ComplianceCreate and maintain test procedures, validation plans, and test reports for assigned productsSupport the upkeep of technical files, software files, and product compliance documentationEnsure testing methods and results align with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirementsTraining and Cross-Functional SupportProvide technical input during training development for internal teams, including Sales and Technical SupportPartner with Product Management, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure product readiness at each stage of developmentContribute to the improvement of internal validation tools, methods, and testing processesCompetenciesRequirementsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical fieldProfessional Experience: 3–5 years of experience in product validation, testing, product development, or a related engineering disciplineTechnical CompetenciesStrong understanding of the product development lifecycle, including prototype evaluation, verification and validation processes, and engineering change managementHands-on experience with hardware and/or software testing, test plan execution, and documenting resultsDemonstrated ability to analyze test data, identify root causes, and communicate clear, actionable findings to cross-functional teamsProven ability to manage multiple validation tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environmentIT SkillsProficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Outlook, and TeamsExperience with Zoom or similar collaboration platformsLanguage SkillsEnglish requiredInterpersonal SkillsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiencesDetail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality and complianceBenefits PEAK's benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Dependent Care Savings Account (DCA), and 401K plan.
