Job TitleSupport The Stand-Up Of A Complex ProgramResponsible for identifying operational testing needs and executing strategic planning initiatives for creating a safe and efficient shop floor testing environment. Work in parallel with design engineering, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, environmental safety & health and production operations. Create manufacturing test engineering statement of work contractual requirements.
Interface with shop floor management & shop floor personnel to help troubleshoot and resolve vehicle test issues and implement process improvements to increase efficiency. Create shop aid tooling, analyze shop floor performance and support the quality organization in root cause analysis and corrective action activities for process-related defects.Required experience:Testing and troubleshooting of aircraft sub-systems such as: fuel systems, pumps, valves, actuators, hydraulics, electricalActing as test conductor/director for air vehicle testingAuthoring air vehicle system (fuel, hydraulic, electrical, etc.) test procedures and plansIdentification and operation of specialized test equipmentWire harness and interconnect installation/integrationAircraft sub-systems assembly and integrationWork instruction authoring and work planningHands-on production floor support (direct ownership and support of specific operations as well as interface with touch-labor employees)Hands-on experience with ground support equipment (GSE), such as hydraulic mules, power carts, cooling air carts, etc.Knowledge of common airworthiness, quality, and manufacturing requirements for air vehicle validationAbility to develop testing setups with little direction or informationDesired experience:Experience and knowledge of typical flight line operations and ground support activitiesDemonstrated interpersonal and collaboration skills required in a team environmentAbility to effectively present technical information to non-technical audiencesDevelopment/prototype/first article program supportJet engine integrationJet engine service and maintenance familiarityAbility to determine the required regression testing during air vehicle rework, maintenance, or troubleshootingConducting safety briefs/huddles prior to testing in order to ensure team safety, FOD compliance, and efficiency during test eventsAbility to understand aircraft system operation to an IPT level for all air vehicle systemsExperience testing prototype air vehiclesStrong knowledge of all phases of manufacturingManufacturing engineer type role previously heldTeamcenter and Catia V5 software usageSTEM type degree
