Test EngineerBusek is seeking a hands-on Test Engineer to own, develop, and maintain the test infrastructure that supports the development, qualification, and production of advanced aerospace propulsion systems and related hardware. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys both mechanical systems and software development, combining hardware integration, test operations, automation, and data acquisition.The successful candidate will take ownership of test assets and facilities, design and improve test setups, develop software tools and scripts to automate testing and data analysis, and work closely with design and manufacturing teams to ensure reliable and efficient test execution. This position offers a unique blend of mechanical engineering, laboratory operations, and programming.Key Responsibilities:Own and maintain test infrastructure supporting development, qualification, and production programsDesign, build, and improve test setups, fixtures, instrumentation, and supporting hardwareDevelop and maintain software tools, scripts, and automation frameworks for test execution, data acquisition, and analysisWrite Python and other software scripts to improve testing efficiency, repeatability, and reportingTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and software issues within test systemsSupport test planning, execution, and documentation for engineering and production programsCollaborate with design, manufacturing, and systems engineers to define test requirements and implement test solutionsMonitor test equipment health, calibration status, and facility readinessAnalyze test data and provide clear technical summaries and recommendationsDrive continuous improvement initiatives for test operations, infrastructure reliability, and automation capabilitiesSupport the development of new test capabilities as propulsion technologies and programs evolveRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience building, troubleshooting, or operating hardware systemsExperience developing software tools, scripts, or automation using Python or similar programming languagesExperience working with laboratory, manufacturing, or test equipmentStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across both hardware and software domainsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentationComfortable working in a hands-on engineering environment with significant laboratory and test-floor involvementStrong organizational skills and ability to independently own technical projectsPreferred Qualifications:Experience developing automated test systems, data acquisition systems, or hardware-in-the-loop test environmentsFamiliarity with instrumentation, sensors, DAQ systems, LabVIEW, National Instruments hardware, or similar test platformsExperience with aerospace, propulsion, vacuum systems, thermal systems, or other high-reliability hardwareExperience designing custom test fixtures, support equipment, or experimental hardwareExperience with data analysis, visualization, and reporting toolsFamiliarity with configuration control and engineering documentation practicesExperience supporting prototype development, qualification testing, or production test operationsPhysical RequirementsAbility to perform hands-on assembly and fine motor tasks as requiredAbility to lift up to 30 lbsBenefitsHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holidaysRetirement savings plan (401k)Professional development opportunitiesCollaborative and innovative work environmentWhat We OfferOpportunity to work on cutting-edge space propulsion technologyHands-on involvement in advanced manufacturing and dual-mode propulsion systemsCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits packageU.S.
