Test EngineerBoulder, ColoradoJob DescriptionThe Test Engineer is responsible for leading the test effort for one of the Product Development teams within our Venue Engineering group. This role will serve as a core member of an Agile team, collaborating with world-class Developers, Product Managers, Designers, and Project Managers to deliver the highest quality products in a timely and efficient manner.ResponsibilitiesProactively evangelizing quality in all phases of the software development processAuthoring and communicating clear test plans, results, and coverage to your team and organizationTesting service layer using tools like Postman, Paw, and PlaywrightUtilizing debugging proxies, application performance monitoring, and machine-generated data to identify the root cause of issuesContributing to the project's test automation suites and identifying high-value opportunities to apply automation and testing toolsAssuming co-ownership of automation and testing tools backlogServing as a subject matter expert and coach for testing approachesActively leverage and evaluate AI-assisted tooling (e.g., code conversion, test generation) to accelerate automation efforts and ensure quality of AI-generated codeDemonstrating product/platform expertise to uncover design and implementation risks early in the planning and design phasesQualifications & Skills4+ years of software testing experience and the ability to demonstrate testing and technical prowessSelf-motivated, communicative, curious, proactive natureUnderstanding of industry-standard test processes, load testing, and test automation pyramidsExcellent communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skillsEagerness to learn new things and overcome challengesExperience in an agile environment using processes such as Scrum, Kanban, etcExperience with software coding, specifically as it relates to building test automation (e.g. JavaScript, TypeScript)Experience with source code management (Git, etc.)Experience with test tracking tools (X-Ray, etc.)Experience with AI-assisted testing capabilities such as self-healing automation, synthetic data generation, or test code generationPlaywright experience/expertiseExperience introspecting application performance using tools such as JMX and APM (e.g.

DataDog) alongside comprehending code paths based on application logging, metrics, and other signalsExperience with SRE and SRE concepts such as error budgets, SLI/SLO, etcExperience with continuous integration (GitHub Actions, etc.)Understanding of persistence layer and ability to plan and load test dataSalary Range: $105,000 - $130,000 (Base Salary) + BonusAs a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
