In this role, you will build scalable automated testing solutions that ensure the reliability and performance of mission-critical systems supporting Defense and Homeland Security operations. You will work across the full development lifecycle to validate systems that process large volumes of real-time data.Get s#it done.What You Will Be DoingDesign, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for large-scale, distributed software systemsBuild and execute automated test suites for web applications and APIs to ensure comprehensive coverageDevelop integration and end-to-end test scripts supporting complex system interactionsEvaluate, select, and integrate automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, TestNG) into CI/CD pipelinesImplement automated performance and load testing to analyze system scalability and reliabilityConduct functional, regression, performance, and security testing to identify defects and ensure system qualityCollaborate with developers, system engineers, and product teams to define test strategies and identify automation opportunitiesParticipate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) to align testing with development effortsTrack, triage, and resolve defects using tools such as GitLab or JIRAOptimize automation frameworks and test execution for speed, reliability, and maintainabilityDocument test plans, methodologies, and results; ensure alignment with system requirements and architectureWhat You Have DoneBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience3+ years of experience in test automation or software testingDeveloped automated test suites for web applications using tools such as Cypress, Playwright and JavaScript, or similarExperience testing both front-end and back-end systems, including APIsHands-on experience with functional and non-functional testing (performance, regression, etc.)Worked in an Agile software development environmentAuthored test cases, procedures, and documented resultsExperience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)Tested complex systems composed of microservices or modular architecturesStrong troubleshooting skills and collaboration with development teams to resolve defectsProgramming/scripting experience in Java, JavaScript, or similar, including BDD tools (Cucumber, Gherkin)Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or similar) and version control systems (Git)Even BetterExperience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUIFamiliarity with build tools including Maven, Gradle, or NPMExperience with performance testing tools such as JMeterWorking knowledge of databases and SQLExperience testing systems in secure or regulated environments (e.g., DoD, RMF, NIST)Exposure to DevSecOps practices and secure software testing$118,400 - $177,600 a year The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, the Company considers several factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.At RII, we believe that diversity in our workforce is critical to our success.
