Terminal Operator (Plant Electrical Maintenance)The Terminal Operator (Plant Electrical Maintenance) role is a multi-craft position responsible for the maintenance of the equipment, safety of their co-workers, and maintaining a clean work environment.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Consistently maintain all safety precautions, using all safety gear and personal protective equipmentClean and perform routine maintenance work on equipment, loaders, bins, carts, and other containersMaintain equipment storage to ensure inventory is protectedActive listening to receive instructions and read work orders to complete work assignmentsOpenly and effectively communicate with all staff and drivers to ensure accuracy of loads and minimize errorsAbility to be flexible in work assignments and open to working in multiple areas and locations as necessary to get the job doneGlobal Responsibilities:Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this positionThis job may require additional duties not listed above and the employee may be asked to perform those duties to meet business needsQualifications:Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredKnowledge of operation of a cement terminal preferred2+ years working with heavy equipment, fluid power, electricity and/or automated industrial systemsExperience:Basic mechanical experienceExperience and knowledge of industrial electrical control systemsSkills/Abilities:Basic computer skills and ability to use interfaces with computersExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenMaintain all safety precautions for all work environmentsWorking Conditions:Fast paced environment with a need to respond to ever changing scenariosExposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, heavy construction equipment, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditionsNoise level is usually moderate but can be high and requires personal hearing protection on occasion at terminal and machine roomsFrequent exposure to cement, lime, dust, oils, diesel fuel, and other substances that may cause burns, and are toxic or explosive if handled incorrectlyExposure to elements of weather including heat, cold, rain, and dustFrequent exposure to water and wet conditionsPhysical Requirements:Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and armsOccasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawlOccasional need to climb heights of up to 150 feetSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusOperate buttons, levers, and other controls located on various equipmentWork through stressful situations while maintaining professionalism and composureMust be able to frequently bend in order to obtain samples from stockpiles or ground, climb ladders with buckets, and push wheelbarrowsMust be able to sit and drive for extended periods of timeMust be able to work long and flexible hours as necessaryMust be able to maneuver in and around our terminals and yards as necessaryMust be able to lift at least 50 pounds several times a dayBenefits Information:In alignment with our Bargaining Agreement, we are proud to partner with our Union representatives to provide a benefits package that is both competitive and tailored to meet the needs of our employees and their families.
